Abstract
Gap Analysis, ReEngineering and Optimization of an Enterprise Utility GIS
Track: Implementing Enterprise GIS
Authors: Mandy Gosal
The City of Pasadena, Water & Power division has an Enterprise GIS system that has been in place for several years, a complex ArcFM GIS network has been deployed for the water & electric utilities and these softwares: Telvent and Miner ArcFM, ArcGIS Server Spatial Wave Mapplet, MapLibrary and MapProduction are being utilized. A new review of this system paved the way to incorporating new techniques to optimize the GIS system & leverage the investment in application and data to support decision making and analysis that were made in the early 2000's
This paper will describe the following aspects of the project:
1.New needs assessment
2.New hardware & software technologies incorporated
3.New workflows & processes developed for the GIS
4.New data products developed
5.Changes in training, staffing & other aspects of the program
6.Integration of products and processes into the existing Enterprise GIS System
7.Lessons learned
