Abstract
GeoKNX Enterprise, An Integrated ArcGIS-Maximo Solution Streamlines Baltimore Water Operations
Track: Mobile GIS
Authors: Terry Bartlett
Wachs Water Services (Wachs) provides field Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for the City of Baltimore (City). Initially a combination of hardcopy maps generated from ArcGIS and Trimble handheld devices were used by Wachs field and backoffice staff to support management of the City's water operations. The complex information needs required Wachs to implement a more robust solution, GeoKNX Enterprise, an integrated ArcGIS-Maximo asset/work management system solution.
In the field, GeoKNX Mobile allows Wachs to capture information related to construction, maintenance, repair and inspection activities providing visibility of asset condition and costs for capital expenditure decisions. Managers can now assign, capture, track and manage work activities in near real time. Field staff now have access to current data in the field including work orders, asset, asset history, GPS location information and GIS geodatabase.
Attendees will learn how an integrated ArcGIS-Maximo solution solved an operational water utility enterprise information need.
