Abstract
Mapping Electrical Panels and Capacity at Tobyhanna Army Depot
Track: Electric Utilities
Authors: Kathleen Cullinane, Robert Barber-Delach
As the largest full service electronics maintenance facility in the Department of Defense (DoD), TYAD has as its mission, total sustainment - design, manufacture, repair and overhaul - of hundreds of electronic systems.
Electrical capacity is crucial to the location of cost centers and workstations for rapidly changing mission loads. TYAD, working with CTC as its onsite Geographic Information System (GIS) team, has contracted with Dewberry to provide complete GIS surveys and attribution, and electrical circuit tracing for all electrical panels at Tobyhanna. This presentation reveals methodology of the surveys and the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) process. Connecting and visualizing circuitry and capacity will be the end use of the project. Analytics will include capacity as a simple calculation by area, and circuitry will be visible and will allow shut-down by area with full circuit architecture available in a web-based flex map viewer accessed by TYAD staff.
