Local governments maintain a variety of different assets on and under the street network, from sidewalks, curb ramps, and paved surfaces to underground pipelines and appurtenances to signs, signals, urban trees and landscape, and even public art. The City of Austin's enterprise street network forms an integral part of the data structures in its enterprise asset and work management system, allowing departments to analyze service levels and maintenance costs across multiple classes of infrastructure and organizational responsibility while supporting coordinated work planning. This presentation explains the integrated database designs and data maintenance strategies used by the City as well as lessons learned in the development and integration of Esri GIS technologies.
