Homeland Infrastructure Foundation Level Data Working Group
Track: Homeland and National Security

Access to accurate geospatial information is critical to Homeland Security, Homeland Defense, Emergency Preparedness, Response and Recovery and Infrastructure Protection mission success. The Homeland Infrastructure Foundation-Level Data Working Group (HIFLD) is comprised of four official members (DHS, DoD, NGA, USGS), and 5,000+ mission partners from across Federal, State, local and private organizations. A regional extension of HIFLD, HIFLD to the Regions is deployed across the DHS Protective Security Advisor regions to increase awareness of available geospatial data, tools, training and best practices with regional stakeholders. The HIFLD works to strengthen partnerships, share best practices and improve the Homeland Security Infrastructure Program (HSIP). HSIP datasets are comprised of common operational infrastructure data that can be utilized in ArcGIS across the Federal, State, and local communities. HSIP supports 300,000+ mission partners and assists decision-makers with: planning, situational awareness, threat and impact analysis, modeling, protection of borders, and expediting response and recovery missions.
