After years of lawsuits, the California Supreme Court has made a landmark decision on the applicability of the California Public Records Act to county-maintained digital parcel data in GIS format. We will discuss the implication of this case for the GIS community, both in California and nationwide. Where do we go from here? Who is continuing the advocacy for access to government-created GIS data? Your opinions will be solicited.
