The University of Texas at El Paso will be one hundred years old in 2014, and right now student, staff and faculty are seeking to move up among the most important universities all over United States. Tier one status is related with research competitiveness, academic and professional endeavors. The academic community at UTEP is very interested to reach this goal. That is why several departments at UTEP join efforts to help to this quest. Facilities Service Department, Space Information Resources and Regional Geospatial Center are working to create an inventory of critical equipment using ArcGIS in ten buildings on campus and share the outcome with future and present researches, staff and administrative in order to maximize their assets (use and maintenance), accountability and labs space.
