High-precision GNSS is becoming cheaper and more accessible. The typical accuracy of internal GNSS receivers in smartphones, handhelds and tablets is not very good.
The proliferation of inexpensive, wireless high-precision GNSS receivers will make it much easier for GIS users of smartphones, handhelds and tablets to take
advantage of new satellite signals, such as L5, and other satellite systems, such as GLONASS and Galileo without having to rely on mobile device manufacturers to implement high-precision GNSS receivers and antennas.
Small, wireless high-precision GNSS 'pucks' can bring inexpensive, high-precision GIS data collection to users of ArcGIS for Mobile and ArcPad on a variety of mobile devices.
