DSA - Enterprise Search Portal based on ArcGIS and SharePoint

Owing to the politically mandated adaptation process that RAG is subjected to, future years will see increasing staff cuts as well as loss of the attendant know-how. In order to ensure that valuable expertise does not drain away and the company retains its information gathering and sharing capability, the creation of an information platform called Digitale Service-Akte (DSA) integrating all of RAG's geospatial data, currently amounting to 40 terabytes, was called for.
In addition to classic GIS data, RAG has a vast wealth of documents and files on hand which contain one or several spatial references in textualized format (e.g., address or name of a mining shaft). Hence, the DSA portal combines the functionality of modern mapping services for geospatial analysis and display with the capability of a search engine allowing full-text searches across different departments' data containers.
