The aim of this research is to develop location based services for Park and Ride (PnR) users to choose the best train station to park their cars during peak hours. The decision making criteria are parking availability in PnR parking lots, train service quality, travel time and train frequency. Surveys are conducted to collect traffic flow information of parking lots and PnR users' perception on train service quality at four train stations, Perth, Western Australia. Fuzzy logic forecast models are used to estimate the parking availability and multi-criteria decision making methods are adopted to determine the best station based on users' departure time and current location. A location-based service application has been developed to implement the methods. The application can significantly improve the efficiency to use PnR services, which could attract more customers and increase public transport usage.
