Abstract
Forecasting Quality of Life in Los Angeles
Track: Urban and Regional Planning
Authors: Brianne Gilbert
This study pushes past thinking about a region’s standard SES divisions by assessing local ideas about current and future conditions of Los Angeles County. Two surveys show resident and leaders’ views on their cities, personal finances, quality-of-life concerns, and more. These responses are overlaid onto objective data to form an economic forecast. The result is an analysis that uses location as a developing identifier in a unique way of interpreting the county through a public opinion lens.
