WSSC manages one of the largest drinking water infrastructure networks in the United States.Five years ago, WSSC partnered with Wachs Water Services to increase system control by improving the usability and value of the existing GIS dataset. WSSC’s original GIS dataset was created from 200 scale paper maps which introduced spatial errors that made locating water valves difficult particularly those that were covered over.
