Abstract
Mapping Evacuations of Domestic Large Animals during Disasters
Track: Disaster and Emergency Management

With recent fires and floods in CO, the importance of domestic animal evacuation was recognized in emergency response efforts. The specialized evacuation accommodation needed for larger animals often goes unrecognized. As large animal owners, these two GIS professionals set out to apply geospatial analysis to the
issue of animal evacuation. By incorporating ESRI tools to current evacuation efforts they hope to improve the process of moving larger animals to safety.
