SUSTAINING AN ENTERPRISE GEOSPATIAL INFORMATION PROGRAM
Track: Water Resources

This paper focuses on information technology and data governance best practices employed by the SW Florida Water Management District to sustain an enterprise GIS program since 1987 in
the face of leadership changes and resource constraints common to government. While information technology governance is relatively common, it is the inclusion of data collection activities into this process that has been particularly valuable to the success of the District’s environmental data management efforts.
