Track: Tribal/Indigenous GIS Programs
Authors: Andrew Stratton
How does data collection at LTER sites help Indian Country? SIPI students collect data from the EcoTrends website to design projects that will promote decision making driven by scientific data. Students perform spatial analysis and create info graphics and data visualization to help non-scientists understand and interpret long term data and how it pertains to them. The goal is to develop a network of Indian Country GIS professionals who will be able to utilize NEON data when it comes on line.
