Abstract
Automated Mapping of VFPA Truck Routes Using ModelBuilder
Track: Highways and Roads
Authors: Douglas Lynch
The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority conducted an GPS origin and destination study to analyze the effectiveness of existing truck routes from port geofence to geofence. Turning movements such as starting, stopping, turns, etc. were all calculated with an on-board GPS transponder and automatically made into a large matrix. This session will describe the process used to develop a model in ModelBuilder capable of processing 15,000,000 records and within a Esri standard license level.
