Abstract
Fine-scale Vegetation Mapping of the Central Valley of California
Track: Urban and Regional Planning
Authors: Jason Schwenkler
Landscape-scale vegetation mapping provides an understanding of the spatial structure of and distribution of vegetation across a landscape. It also provides a baseline condition useful in the future evaluation of changes in these metrics. In an effort to better inform the development and implementation of the Central Valley Flood Protection Plan and Central Valley Flood System Conservation Strategy, wetland and riparian vegetation types were mapped from Keswick Dam to the Kings River.
