Abstract

Noise Production Ceilings, new environmental laws and railway planning
Track: Railways
Authors: gerard groenveld

Imagine noise being a geographically distributed limitation in railway capacity planning. That there is a limited amount of noise space available, just like availability of railway tracks and switches.

This idea is the main concept of a new Dutch law on noise pollution: Noise Production Ceilings (NPC).

The presentation explains NPC's. It shows how the new law affects business processes at ProRail and how new this is supported by custom developed ArcGIS applications.
