Abstract
Enhancing Regulatory Data to Generate Flood Forecast Inundation Maps
Track: Water Resources
Authors: Ryan Meekma
This presentation will describe the process of using enhanced regulatory floodplain modeling data to produce flood forecast inundation mapping. The inundation mapping library is created with data from a calibrated hydraulic river model and processed using Spatial Analyst tools in GIS. These products can be hosted by USGS or NOAA as part of their Flood Inundation Mapping (FIM) program, and used by community leaders, emergency managers, and members of the public to learn about their flood risk.
