Comprised of 6 terminals and containing 130 gates, 171 vendors, and 32 art exhibits, Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) can be overwhelming for passengers. Using its GIS library and the ArcGIS JavaScript API, PHL has developed a mobile website to help passengers find their way through the airport.
From the development process, PHL’s GIS staff demonstrated the power and potential of easy-to-use web applications to bring the power of GIS to the public and to other airport departments.
