Abstract
Title: Industrial Explosion Risk Assessment: Toronto Urban Life Q
Track: Disaster and Emergency Management
Authors: Tannaz Zargarian
This study assesses the risk of explosions associated with petrochemical depots in Toronto.
A vulnerability assessment focused on populations, areas, and facilities was conducted. Fuzzy logic produced detailed information about the degree of significance for the variables from the least to the most at-risk results.
The overall finding of the study is that the potential for industrial accidents in North York has been growing due to the overlap between residential and industrial land uses.
