Abstract
Prioritizing Golden Eagle Landscapes With Conceptual Models and ArcGIS
Track: Conservation

Federal wildlife agencies recognize a need to balance the ecological benefits of renewable energy production with potential impacts on wildlife. Using the Conceptual Model Manager and ArcGIS geoprocessing tools, we have developed a spatially-explicit, expert-driven model to identify areas critical for the conservation of golden eagles in Wyoming. The results of this model can be applied to facilitate landscape-level planning, and help standardize environmental review and permitting processes.
