The Grand Canyon National Park had a large amount of mismanaged archeology data. Northern Arizona University used GIS to provide a data management where the assorted legacy data could be aggregated and reformatted. This used clip, intersect, overlay and merge analysis for consolidation, error removal, accuracy and an ArcPad setup. The data is now streamlined and unhindered by data management. Other National Park Service units have similar data and would find similar benefits from these methods.
