Abstract
Soup to Nuts: Integration GIS in Seattle's Bicycle Master Plan Update
Track: Urban and Regional Planning
Authors: Chad Lynch
Seattle's Bicycle Master Plan serves as a guide for how the city will develop its bicycle infrastructure over time. In 2013 the city's Department of Transporatation completed an overhaul of the plan which focused on creating a bicycle network that would appeal to users of all ages and ability levels.
Throughout the update process GIS was used in a variety of ways. This presentation will be an overview of how GIS was used to help engage the community and develop a first rate bicycle network.
