For over 30 years, UC Davis researchers have collected monthly data on the fishes of Suisun Marsh in the San Francisco Estuary. Newer methods for exploring and communicating data, such as ArcGIS animation tools for data visualization, allow viewers to quickly and easily familiarize themselves with population changes over time and in space, and have tremendous potential to help us better understand and share this valuable biogeographic record.
