Abstract
A USGS/Esri Collaboration to Map Standardized Global Ecosystems
Track: Environmental Management
Authors: Roger Sayre
The U. S. Geological Survey and Esri have collaborated to produce a high resolution (250 m) global map of ecological land units (ELUs). The ELUs are modeled from a characterization of four land surface features: bioclimate, land form, lithology, and land cover. The resulting ELUs and their four input data layers represent a rich new source of global ecosystems data that may be useful for a variety of environmental assessments. The data are available as new Landscape content in AGOL.
