GIS on the go: a closer look at providing mobile GIS to field crew

While Pasadena Water and Power has traditionally relied on paper maps and paper work-slips for its field operation, in light of recent advancements in mobile technology, it became prudent to create a digital platform that is capable of delivering up-to-date GIS maps as well as retiring paper based work orders. Our IT team envisioned a system that not only streamlines the work-slip process but also brings forth the capability to spatially track each work order.
