Track: Urban and Regional Planning

Some recent incidents of oil and gas pipelines have brought attention to planners about the potential risks of pipeline facilities in residential neighborhoods. This paper examines the impacts of oil and gas pipelines on residential property values in Houston using household data and pipeline data from local oil and gas pipeline companies. A hedonic model and a multi-level regression model are employed to examine the effects of the oil and gas pipelines.
