Determining healthcare shortages using spatial and network analysis.

This study looks into disparity of healthcare in Florida. Health providers are aggregated by blockgroup and normalized by service population. Healthcare availability hot spots are examined using Getis-Ord Gi statistics. Accessibility areas were determined using street network and Network Analyst. Service areas beyond 30 minutes travel time showed limited access in many rural areas .These findings can inform health care professionals to address gaps in healthcare coverage.
