Creating Custom JavaScript Web GIS Solutions in a Secured Environment

Whether entities should develop customized Web GIS solutions or not has been an ongoing discussion in the GIS community. While platforms such as ArcGIS Online provide a number of useful templates, end-users at times request a more sophisticated Web GIS for their needs. In this presentation we discuss the pros and cons of custom Web GIS development, based on a solution that was created at the Seminole Tribe of Florida in a secured server environment utilizing the ArcGIS API for JavaScript.
