Understanding today’s online GIS user through a WorldMap survey

WorldMap is an open source online mapping application which aims to lower barriers for scholars who wish to visualize, analyze, organize, present, and publish mapped information. This study analyzes the results of a WorldMap user's survey based on the user-centered design (UCD) approach. The results improve our understanding of user demographics and needs, help guide WorldMap improvements, and also shed light on the evolving community of online GIS users more broadly.
