The Clinton Climate Initiative is supporting the Government of Kenya to develop a system to estimate land based emissions and provide credible data for planning and implementing sustainable land use strategies for lifting millions out of poverty. This paper describes how the system integrates remote sensing, soil, crop, climate and other data to produce GHG estimates and support tools to address development challenges. The paper shows how this approach can be replicated in other countries.
