Authors: Jefferson McMillan
Childhood obesity has been on the rise over the past decade. Although several initiatives have been underway, the most recent statistic shows that the prevalence of obesity amongst children ages 2-19 hovers around 17%. As an integral part of the public health system in DC, Children’s National has addressed childhood obesity through understanding of clinical and geographic risk factors. This session outlines how CNHS characterized the scope of the problem and utilized its resources to respond.
