PTC WIU Configuration Process: Integrating Non-Spatial Data into GIS

In supporting the implementation of Positive Train Control, it was determined that improvements to the management of Wayside Interface Unit information were needed. Due to amount of work needed and the integration of non-GIS data, two tools were created to help manage this information. These were; the WIU Web Viewer and the WIU Configuration Tool. Through these tools and enhanced processes, the management of this critical PTC information has been accomplished with efficiency and accuracy.
