An interdisciplinary approach GIS analysis draws from various disciplines. A GIS enables the overlaying and integration of multiple data layers to better assess/analyze a situation. We explore how integrated GIS research contributes realistic understanding of social/environmental issues and make the case for integrating GIS into the mainstream of research methods. The goal is to help new and experienced GIS users witness the power and capacity of geospatial mapping, analysis and storytelling.
