Python Scripting for Regional Land Use Data Management and QC Workflow

SCAG maintains a regional land use database for 197 local jurisdictions in the region to support regional transportation and environmental planning. SCAG’s land use database consists of general plan, zoning, and existing land use at a parcel level, totaling over 4.7 million parcels. To handle such huge amounts of data, SCAG developed an effective land use data management and QC workflow by leveraging ArcGIS and Python Scripting, which offers benefits in time and cost savings and higher quality.
