Abstract
Park-and-Ride Success: A GIS Analysis
Track: Public Transit
Authors: J M Pogodzinski, John Niles
This paper uses ArcGIS tools to analyze the effect Park-and-Ride lots have on the service productivity of public transit systems. We measure service productivity as vehicle boardings per revenue service hour and passenger miles per revenue service hour.
We expect a geographic influence - suburban locations are likely to show a positive effect from aggregation via P&R as residential density falls. We quantify this impact.
We use data from King County Metro (Seattle area) and other agencies.
