Abstract
A Python Tool to Process Landsat Images
Track: Python for Analysis
Authors: William Kramber
The Idaho Department of Water Resources (IDWR) has used Landsat images every year since the mid 1970s to help manage Idaho’s water resources. A python tool was developed to expedite the processing of large batches of Landsat images downloaded from Earth Explorer. The tool creates a folder for each image, uncompresses the downloaded files, projects to IDTM83, creates a mask, creates composites, stretches the 3-band composites, and develops a NDVI image.
