Substantial anthropogenic perturbations of the nitrogen cycle are the result of rapid population growth, with rising need for food and energy production. The increase of reactive nitrogen compounds has a significant impact on human health, environment, and climate. We use ArcGIS to analyze the change of relevant reactive nitrogen compounds, and their environmental impact in eastern United States. We discuss viable pathways to reduce the impact of excess reactive nitrogen on the environment.
