The Austin Police Department’s patrol sectors and districts were last evaluated and redrawn in 2010. Since then, the population growth and overall increase in call volume made redistricting a priority and the Research and Planning Unit was assigned the task. As the software used prior was no longer available, the Districting add-on was determined to be the best tool. Follow our data & methods to see the final outcome.
