Alabama Power Transmission is challenged to reduce cost, and minimize our environmental footprint. To support that effort, large and complex datasets are utilized to support engineering demands. Aerial LiDAR, for example, has become essential to route evaluation and access roads development. To address this need, RAMTeCH was engaged to create terrain analysis of proposed access roads using LiDAR and other terrain data. This approach reduced field visits and extended our LiDAR product.
