Abstract
Modeling the Risk of Pipeline System Inundation Given Sea Level Rise

Gas pipeline infrastructure often lies near the coast, potentially vulnerable to sea level rise (SLR) impacts. Using LiDAR data for California’s San Francisco and Sacramento regions, we build a data-rich DEM with surface buildings and integrate it into a hydrodynamic model, simulating a 100-year storm event with SLR. We show SLR above 1m critically inundates this infrastructure. Our work aids SLR mitigation planning and provides a rich database for SLR studies and management in the region.
