Abstract
Flood Risk Analysis: Depth dependent Cost Estimation for urban areas
Track: Urban and Regional Planning
Authors: Alvaro Fonseca, Mia Lind
As part of Ishoej Municipality Climate Change Adaptation Plan, the socioeconomic effects of urban flooding were assessed using a series of overlay analyses in model builder. Potential damage cost was estimated based on depth and frequency of the inundated areas for selected features in the urban landscape. Input was flooding maps, public economic pricing of buildings, and latest insurance costs after flooding events. The method represents a general quantitative approach to qualitative problems.
