Los Angeles County Storm Water Modeling – Bringing Data Together

How did we combine rainfall, stream, storm water quality, and land use data to help create a tool in making decisions for the future? The LA County’s Watershed Management Modeling System uses GIS to easily process all this data to create a cutting edge hydrologic based water quality model to help agencies make smart decisions related to stormwater quality and flood control. This model has been used for TMDL implementation plans, climate change studies, and water capture master plans.
