Utilizing GIS to Enhance Environmental Compliance at MTA
Track: Public Transit
Authors: Leo Fothergill, David Sides
The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) partnered with AECOM and Towson University’s Center for GIS (CGIS) to create the Transit Integrated Geospatial Environmental Reporting System (TIGERS). TIGERS is a web-based application developed to enhance safety, environmental compliance and emergency preparedness using ArcGIS for Server, Desktop and Online. TIGERS is a one-stop-shop for MTA staff to view and retrieve facility and environmental maps, data and documents for MTA's maintenance facilities.
