FEWS NET provides early warning support and analysis for food insecurity. GIS data and spatial analyses are used to produce agro-climatological products for operational monitoring. Geospatial techniques include zonal statistic functions, time series analysis to identify temporal trends, and hydrologic and vegetation modeling. These products can be integrated into GIS projects and form a basis to monitor, assess, and produce seasonal food insecurity maps in drought-prone regions around the globe.
