This study conducted fertilizer response trials of wheat and barley in 1,500 plots in Ethiopia’s major land resource areas to develop appropriate, research-based fertility management recommendations. Agronomic parameters, biomass and crop yield response were measured. Results showed significant grain yield increases due to added fertilizers. GIS is being used to further study economic impacts and disseminate research results by matching farm locations to plots with similar cropping conditions.
