In updating the Regional Policy Plan, story maps were used to lead stakeholders along a path of understanding using historic Datasets, both geographic and anecdotal, to illustrate past development patterns. Analyses of 120 geographic metrics were used to categorize the current development relationships which were demonstrated with a separate story map. Lessons of the past and present, together with scenario mapping tools formulate the policy plan for the future.
