City of Manhattan Cemetery Locator & Grave Locator App

The City's cemetery sexton, needed to organize 150+ years of records. To do so, cemetery graves & lots were created using ArcGIS desktop, then joined with a database. The layers were uploaded as services to ArcGIS Online. After creating a webmap, the Finder app was used. The app allows users to search 30,000+ records by name & directs them to the exact grave location. This paper is useful because many small cities don’t have the money to hire private firms to map & manage their cemetery data.
