A GIS-Model to Identify Flood Affected Areas Using Landsat Images.

In Colombia, most of the towns and cities have a high flooding-risk because they are located on river floodplains. Due to the lack of models or methods to establish flood affected areas, we propose a methodology that links GIS with remote sensing to identify flooding-affected areas. We used the Model Builder tool available in ArcMap 10.2 for conducted an automated multi-temporal analysis of Landsat images. The model would provide valuable information to assess damage and mitigate losses.
